Windows 7 End of Life

As of January 14th, 2020 Microsoft has ended support for almost all versions of Windows 7. This means that Microsoft will no longer release any future updates or security patches, nor provide technical support for these versions of Windows. Microsoft does offer the option of purchasing extended security updates (ESU) for select versions of Windows 7. A system under this licensing will continue to receive security updates for the length of the license.

Windows 7 EOLUpdating to Windows 10 will be a great choice for most systems, however some hardware updates may be recommended to improve performance. One major benefit of performing an update is that most, if not all, personal files and programs will remain on the system after the update is complete. Some programs, depending on their age, may not be supported on Windows 10.

Depending on the age and performance of the system, a better option may be to replace it with a brand new system. Total Computing Solutions is able to transfer any personal documents, photos, videos and music to the new system. Any software or applications will need to be installed again on the new system as well.

Total Computing Solutions will provide technical support for any system, no matter which version of Windows is installed.
